This book resembles closely an older book titled Be Here Now. It offers the same turning toward supposed inner virtues in reaction to a corrupt world. It purportes to be thoughts from outside the box and is just poorly explained thoughts from a different box.

In “I am Mouse” author Mike Bhangu examines why we are “really on this earth.” Bhangu ponders our 8-hour work day, mortgage, etc. He suggests that there are only shepherds and the herd; the rich and the poor, and not much leeway in-between. Filled with Bhangu’s wise memes after each chapter, “I am Mouse” has good points, thought-provoking scenarios, and, in my opinion, a desire to return to a non-modern society where CEO’s and large corporations are nonexistent and life is much simpler.Bhangu certainly “challenges the status quo” throughout “I am Mouse.” In fact, the entire book is based upon this premise. My feelings (and Bhangu does make me feel empathy to his cause) are that he somewhere along the way experienced loss, or suffered a trauma that he tries desperately to dissect and solve. In the end, Bhangu reminds us to “love, be loved, live.” I guess that is what we all want to hear in the end.

This author writes with a gifted vision that pierces to Essence as he unwinds the spiritual architecture hiding behind our toxic, dysfunctional and yes, painful modern society. I AM MOUSE is a quintessential coming of age story that each person must pass through as we mature and grow. There is an initiation we all go through when we learn of the triviality and falseness of our cultural foundations which leave our souls aching and ripped from the betrayal. The author illustrates this precisely. We are charged with finding a way to make sense of this fundamental betrayal while we battle to not be destroyed by it. Ideally, we’ll find a way to nourish and live our deep soul spiritual self as we create a home for it in this questionable world, and beyond. I liked this book because it explains all this in detail and sheds the Light of Truth about our world and our human interface with it's shallowness and ugliness, and the individual’s valiant struggle to appease the pain and find the Beauty and contented peace of living here. It’s full of grand spiritual poetry to light your way, as well. For people with stars in their eyes. This author does not write mediocre books; they are always a grand opus of the life of the inspired Soul, full of teachings. Everyone should read this book to understand with piercing clarity the foundation of living here on earth.
